Refineries

Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) Units:
Engineer/ design, and supervise installation while providing complete project
management for FCC revamps.
Revamps include the following:

Cyclone replacement for reactors, regenerators/ third-stage separators, slide valve/ flue
gas valve replacements, reactor stripper upgrades, refractory upgrades, standpipe/ riser
redesign, expansion joint replacement, and feed nozzle upgrades.
Revamps entail any task necessary to improve product
throughput/ conversion and mechanical reliability.
Construction management using Lampson LTL-1000,
Manitowoc M-250, and American Sky Horse. Design
temporary structures to handle complete cyclone assemblies. Our FCC team handles complete project management for major turnarounds as well as capital improvement projects.
Turnaround services include scope of work development, preliminary budget estimates, complete engineering/design, job specifications, and construction management.
Vessel and Exchanger Design:
Engineer/ design and supervise installation/ startup for several processing facilities
including amine absorber, stripper columns, shell & tube exchangers, debutanizers,
cokers, depropanizers, furfural towers, and receivers. Projects include, but are not
limited to the following:
  • Piping - tower, racks, pumps, and exchangers.
  • Utilities - air, water, steam, nitrogen.
  • Electrical Design - starter racks and new/ modified substation design.
  • Instrumentation - specifications, installation details, and loops for controllers, transmitters, recorders, alarms, and analyzers.
  • Foundation designs, storm water, and process drainage
  • New and modified structural racks, supports, and platforms.

  • Furfural Extraction:
    Design and engineering for new pressurized furfural extraction systems to
    maximize impurity removal from lube oils. Systems include large extraction towers,
    new furfural storage tanks, substations, exchangers, pumps, and tie-ins to existing
    process/ utility lines.

  • Coker Heat Recovery:
    Engineering and design of internal heat recovery systems for maximization. Gas
    oil substitution for re-boiling of fractionating absorbers and de-hexanizer towers.
    Pump and heat exchanger implementation. Fractional tower tray and nozzle modifications. Structural pipe racks, piping, spools, insulation/ heat tracing, process/ storm drainage, equipment foundations, electrical/ instrumentation systems, material specifications,
    complete bid packages, and demolition old system portions.

    Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS):
    CEMS installation engineering and design. Agency interface for protocol provision
    and approvals.Installation supervision. Certification testing and assistance.

    Systems include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Stack monitors for CO, SOx, NOx, opacity, flow, O2, H2S
  • Sulfur recovery unit - total sulfur, H2S, O2 Fuel gas monitoring - H2S
  • Marine Vapor Recovery Unit - CO, O2, Total HC

  • Depropanizer and Merox Units:
    Engineering/ design and supervised installation/ startup for depropanizer and skid
    mounted UOP Merox units. Units may include several towers, re-boilers,
    accumulators,KO pots, and exchangers, as well as new pumps

    Projects include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Piping - tower, racks, pumps, exchangers
  • Utilities - air, water, steam, nitrogen
  • Electrical Design - started racks and substation modifications
  • Instrumentation - all instrument specifications, loops & installation  details
